Your wedding vows need to be personal, thoughtful and real. There’s a lot of truth in the wedding card statements. But they’re not related to you, and they’re not going to keep you going when the going isn’t as easy as you’d like it to be.
So as easy and as lovely as the words may be don’t use Hallmark or any other cardmaker as your writing guide for your wedding vows. Wedding vows are not fluffy protestations of love. They are a working document for how the two of you are going to grow and maintain your marriage.
Tip: Use your relationship as the center of your vows. You’re getting married because you have something special. Commit to it and help your community understand it so they can support it.
