Wedding Planning with Kwanzaa Day 4

Kwanzaa Day Four celebrates Ujamaa or cooperative economics. The goal of Ujamaa is to build and maintain our own stores, shops and other businesses and to profit from them together.

Obviously, this can mean a lot of things. What does it mean to you? Do you tend to shop at black-owned stores? Do you make an effort to see theater and music by black artists? Are you considering concentrating on using black-owned businesses for your wedding? The Black community has a long history in Philadelphia. Are you interested in being married in a historic Black church or Venue?

Or is this just not meaningful to you at this point in your history or life? Whatever is, is fine, it’s just good to know what you think AND what your beloved thinks!

Tip: Keep asking questions. Keep hearing the answers. And keep making plans for your future based upon your values and your Love. Your marriage certainly deserves that! And you know, your wedding deserves it as well. It should be as fabulous as you are.
