On the Third Day of Christmas, my Sweet Pea gave to me:
Three snow strolls
Two hearts a nestling
and a Day free of expectations.
It’s the third Day. And ok, you’re going to have to hurry up if you want to get those strolls in the snow into your schedule, the snow is melting fast today! But it’s a great day to be out and about. Plan three short and aimless excursions where you are doing nothing but being with your beloved. Lists of chores come into your head? In with the good air, out with the bad — Let yourself be lulled back into the pleasure of simply being with your sweetie beloved. And concentrate on that. “I’m with my sweetie beloved and life is grand.” If you can find a patch of snow that isn’t a lake, make a snow angel or two to mark your passing and your joy!
Yesterday was officially Boxing Day, which comes to us from the British Isles. It is the day during the holiday season set aside to think about and take action about those less fortunate than we. Clear out your closet, if you’re going shopping to take advantage of those incredible sales, remember that there are men, women and children who need warm and serviceable clothes. The Brits have wisely extend Boxing day to mean “the first weekend after Christmas,” so here you are. Judith Flanders had an article on the op-ed page of the New York Times yesterday (12/26/08) about Boxing Day as a day of giving.
Tip: Remember: 3 strolls in one day (just pleasure and walking!); two nestling hearts — A little bit of holiday cuddling time; and one more day free of expectations! Enjoy!
