Your Wedding Vows: Create a Marriage Covenant

Both the Jews and the Quakers have marriage covenants that they encourage their couples to hang on their walls. No reason to let them have all the support. Create a document with your vows on it and asking your community to sign it after you have helps you to understand that these are serious commitments you have made to your partner in front of your community. These are commitments you have promised to live into, day by day, until you have a whole lifetime of days lived in loving marriage.

Tip: Create a marriage covenant that includes the following: your vows, to be signed by you; the marriage pronouncement, to be signed by the celebrant; and your community’s statement of witness and support, to signed by the community. Hang it on the wall where you can see it. Read it every day
